Title: Konoha Fusion!
Description: The actual story

JediSSJ - October 28, 2006 01:59 AM (GMT)
First off, A glossery of terms which will be continually updated.

Glossary

Genin - Lowest level of ninja or shinobi
Chuunin - Middle ranked ninja
Jounin - Highest level ninja
Kunai - a type of knife ideal for throwing or close combat
Hidden Village - Title for the varios ninja villages throughout the world. No country has more than one, though some have none. Their are five major Villages, just as there are five major countries:
Fire Country: Village Hidden in the Leaves. Konoha.
Wind Country: Village hidden in the Sand
Water Country: Village hidden in the Mist
Earth Country: Village hidden in the Rock
Lightning Country: Village hidden in the Clouds
Shinobi from a particular Village may be denoted as Nins, ex: Leaf-nin, Sand-nin, etc.
Note: The Hidden Sound Village is the evil Orochimaru's base. Sound-nin are understood to be enemies.
Kage - The title held by each of the leaders of the five great Hidden Villages. They are expected to be the strongest in the village and hold massive power and responsibility.
Hokage - Leader of the Leaf Village. Currently it is Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage (Gondaime Hokage)
Jutsu - Ninja Techniques.
Henge - Transform Jutsu. It is the jutsu used to change ones appearance, often immitating someone else. A basic skill
Bunshin - Clone Jutsu. It creates a nuber of replicas of the caster. These clones are just illusions and have no solid substance. A basic skill
Kage Bunshin - Shadow Clone Jutsu. Creates clones of the caster, but these actually have substance and can fight. They dissapear if they take a hit. Advanced technique. Jounin only (and Naruto).
Kawarimi - Replacement Jutsu. The caster switches places with an object in the area, such as a log. The object briefly maintains the apparance of the caster, allowing them the element of surprise. Fairly basic skill
Bloodline Limit - Special, unique abilities passed on genetically within a family or clan.
Byakugan - Evil Eyes. The Hyuuga Clan's Bloodline Limit. It allows the user a complete 360 degree view in every direction (except a tiny blindspot directly behind them). It also allows them to see an incredible distance straight ahead. The user can see through objects.
Chakra - the basic energy used for Jutsus.
Missing-Nin - A Ninja who has deserted his or her Village and become an outlaw. The symbol on their Forehead Protectors are scratched out.

Teams and Profiles

Team 11
Jounin
QUOTE (Sentenal)
Name: Inuzuka Sentenal
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Element: Fire, Earth
Clan/Family: Inuzuka Clan (easy one, from the series)
Prefered style: Taijutsu main, decent in Ninjutsu.  If you want a fighting style, think Kiba, but Jounin level.  Fights with dog.  Basically, fast and hard-hitting.
Prefered weapons: Inuzukas use their bare hands too
Appearance: About 5'9, brown hair just down to his shoulders.  He is lean.  He wears grey coat, Chunnin/Jounin vest over it, no hood on the coat.  Forehead protecter woren around neck normally.
Personality: Sentenal is loud, and jokes around alot.  However, when he gets in combat, he is dead serious, and fights to get everyone on his team through alive.  He is sarcastic to a fault to the genin around him, but is very protective of them when the time comes.  He doesn't really see the other Jounin around him as rivals, as he doesn't really care what they do or don't do.  He can sometimes seem cold, and just wants a "you do your thing, I'll do mine" approach with them.
Dog: Sentenal's dog is Wolf size, and black.  It's name is Marty

Genin
QUOTE (Leon)
Name: Kai Leon
Age: All Genin are 13.
Gender: Male
Element: Fire
Clan/Family: None from Naruto  I'm unoriginal for this.
Prefered style: Ninjutsu
Prefered weapons: Standard shurkien & kunai, along with his fists. Eventually learns to weild Nunchakus.
Appearance: Spiky white hair and piercings on his left ear, along with a choker around his neck (a black dog collar). Has slightly tanned, clean skin, and wears a few rings on his right hand. His attire is a light white jacket and a matching white vest under. His fairly baggy pants are dark gray. Slim build, average height.
Personality: Loud. He makes sure everyone knows he's there, and that he is capable of taking them out after graduating to a Genin. He knows how strong he is, and is a natural when it comes to using Ninjustsu arts, but he certainly isn't at his peak yet. He has lots more training to do, and does it to become the strongest ninja in history. (Naruto Clone? Uh-oh!)

When it comes to killing though, it's tough for Leon to do so. Ending the life of another is a tough fact for him to swallow. But when it comes to protecting himself or others, he'll do whatever it takes, even if it means killing.

QUOTE (Pendant)
Name: Kanai "Ciel" Anzen
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Element: Wind
Clan/Family: Part of the Kanai Clan, specializing in various medical jutsus.
Preferred style: Ninjutsu and Genjutsu.
Preferred weapons: Kunai, shuriken.
Appearance: Quick character design.(link) Subject to change. For clarification, those are pigtails.
Personality: Typically quite distant, Ciel spends a great amount of time training on her own or doing odd jobs. Well aware of her limits and calm, Ciel makes a reliable, if not a little critical, teammate. Rather than direct confrontation, she sticks to underhanded insults and a passive-aggressive standpoint. Nevertheless, to those she’s closer to, Ciel’s benevolence and sensitivity peaks through and her criticism is from her constant worry of their wellbeing, which borderlines overprotective. Far from the uncaring and smug persona she frequently displays.
To deal with less-than-average strength outside of being a medic, she does have some novice “offensive” medical jutsus (similar to Yakushi Kabuto) and plays mind games to make enemies easier to deal with.

QUOTE (Ippo)
Name: Raphael Santi
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Element: Water
Clan/Family: Just an average guy with no special background.
Prefered style: Taijitsu
Prefered weapons: Fists and feet
Appearance: Very dark hair. Ruggedly handsome, but wears tattered clothes. He's never dressed for any occasion since he spends most of his time training and fighting.
Personality: Raphael is a very adaptable guy, but he's not so friendly. He believes himself to be greater than others. He constantly trains to increase his strength and fighting ability. He can work with any style of fighting, but nothing with chakra.

Team 12
Jounin
QUOTE (Hollie)
Name: Hollie Gue (actually pronounced 'Gway')
Age: 29
Gender: Female.
Element: Fire and earth
Clan/Family: Gue. Bloodline: Can lease a special sort of "goo" which is incredibly sticky. Easy to learn, but difficult to master. Usually used for climbing in extreme circumstances, although there are other uses. Once it hardens, however, it loses it's unique property and easily crumbles. Usually takes about 4 hours for this to happen, though.
Prefered style: Taijutsu, but with elements of Ninjutsu mixed in.
Prefered weapons: Shuriken/Kunai
Appearance: Red hair down to shoulders, green eyes. Very pale skin, well built for a woman. Casual clothes would be black T-shirt and jeans, otherwise, standard issue stuff. She has a a scar on the left arm (why not?).
Personality: Friendly, outgoing, but also serious and hardworking. Devoutly loyal to those she trusts, and has a certain respect for figures of authority. She's headstong and it's difficult to convince her when she's wrong. She tends to hold a grudge even in the most ridiculous circumstances, however, she's also capable of putting it aside if neccesary.

As far as her teaching ability goes, she's quite talented, being a "people" sort of person. She of the opinion that "practise makes perfect", and she won't let students leave her class without being damn close. She's strict, but despite this, most of her students like her, as she's kind and they can have a laugh with her. But she always expects 100% effort!

Genin
QUOTE (Linoud)
Name: Strife Linoud
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Element: Earth and Lightning. (This is just the type most used right?)
Clan/Family: Strife, They have the bloodline limit of timeslowage, and can freely move whilst others are bound to moving at the speed time has set, but Linoud hasn't mastered it, and only once in his life has he used it, so far. Timeslowage enables extreme bursts of speed.
Prefered style: Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, hates genjutsu.
Prefered weapons: Broadsword!
Appearance: He has long, well long for a boy, Fair hair, green eyes. Casual clothes would be a black jumper and a dark green trenchcoat, Black trousers and just wooden sandles. He also wears a Dark green t-shirt under the black jumper. Once he attains a Konoha forehead protector, he will wear it around either his forehead or around his right arm when not on a mission, training or fighting.
Personality: He's a friendly guy, likes to make friends, and will protect them from harm with the best of his abillities. Prefers to use ninjutsu and taijutsu combined effectively in a fight. Dislikes genjutsu with a passion.

Very sarcastic and humourous. Likes to train in his free time, as he is very energetic, he usually trains for longer periods than most people, just to tire himself out. Energetic, loud and hyper, he's found annoying by alot of people. He likes to be the centre of attention somewhat, but not all of the time. He also enjoys drawing various pictures in his spare time not spent training or eating.

QUOTE (Dragon Goddess)
Name: Desu Niwa (Niwa is the last name.)
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Element: Fire and Wind
Clan/Family: Nothing special here.
Prefered style: I'm not sure of the terms, but I'd like her to attack quickly. Swift, fast, etc. (EDIT: Sounds like Ninjutsu would be the most likely.)
Prefered weapons: A katana. Shaded purple, known as Murasaki. Also uses shuriken and daggers.
Appearance: Dark red hair, often tied back into a ponytail. Her forehead protector is worn around her forehead, as it should be. She is 5'4" and wears a white kimono-styled tunic. Her pants are a sky blue, slighty baggy. Her eyes are a deep emerald.
Personality: She's quiet most of the time, but can get talkative if the right person talks to her. Desu is neither rude nor polite, but likes to be around Jounin. She feels secure, but sometimes tries too hard to impress them.

QUOTE (Harem)
Name: Aburame Anji
Gender: Male
Element: Water
Clan/family: Aburame
Preferred Style: Ninjutsu
Preferred Weapons: Bugs lawl
Appearance: Long coat, fuzzy hair, shades >_>
Personality: Highly sarcastic and will not hesitate to make a witty retort even at the expense of someone else.  Does not really care much about spending time with other people as he has his "bugs" to keep him company.  While he does not talk much, his brain is always and can quickly come up with a way to turn a battle around without his opponent even realizing it.

Team 13
Jounin
QUOTE (JediSSJ)
Name: Mitzu Michael
Age: 27
Gender: Male.
Element: Lightning and Fire
Clan/Family: Mitzu Family.  Bloodline Limit: Spirit Sword - can make a sword-like blade out of any elemental chakra.
Prefered style: Ninjutsu
Prefered weapons: None (Uses Spirit Sword instead.)
Appearance: Not overly tall or bulky, Michael has shaggy dark blond hair and blue eyes.  He wears standard Jounin attire, with his Leaf Forehead Protector around his head like a headband.  He wears long, fingerless gauntlests with metal plates in the back to be used in blocking/deflecting weaponry.
Personality: Michael isn't particularly vocal or social.  He is a bit on the sarcastic side, favoring biting remarks.  He's a bit of a brainiac and is sure of himself.  He joined ANBU after his promotion to Jounin at 18, and served there until he was 26.  The Godaime Hokage (Tsunade) requested that he leave ANBU to preform special missions for her, but now she has asked him to take on a Genin team.

Genin
QUOTE (Kamai)
Name: Kam Yun
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Element: Earth
Clan/Family: Just some kid.
Prefered weapons: Kunai and Shuriken, Kusarigama http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kusari-Gama
Appearance: Slender kid, high cheekbones and large lips, androgenous, long black hair and bright blue eyes, traditional genin outfit,in Genin outfit when in training, with leather gloves with a pair of dragons sewn in instead of the traditional fingerless/metal plate gloves, but casual clothing is traditional chinese.
Personality: At a young age, he was trained in Baguazhang and piguazhang styles of kung-fu before his family emigrated to Japan for reasons unclarified. He quickly attached to the japanese life, piqued by what he calls "Strange Customs". Intrigued by the fighting styles of the japanese, he decided to begin training in what he refers to as "this strange style", if only for the sheer joy of fighting. Yun is a high spirited kid, despite his appearance, and has a tendency to feel every emotion 100%, including happiness, overconfidence, rage, etc and has yet to learn to use this to his advantage.
Likes: Pork Dumplings, Tea and fighting
Dislikes: Chicken Dumplings, juice and reading

QUOTE (Tiara)
Name: Katori Hamatatsu
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Element: Wind
Clan/Family: Hamatatsu. Known for speed, but rather frail, and may tire easily.
Prefered style: Taki like. (I don't know the styles. XD)
Prefered weapons: Twin daggers.
Appearance: Insanely long, glossy blackhair that reaches almost to her ankles. She has gold eyes, unique to her family. She wears a rather normal looking blue kimono that's split on one side, for movement, reasons. She holds her hair back with a ribbon at the nape of her neck.
Personality: Though, usually quite kind, and doesn't get angry easily, unless you cut her beloved almost ankle length hair, then she's abolsutely merciless. She does not like to kill, but will if she has to, or, again, if you cut her hair, accidentally or not.

QUOTE (Crysta)
Name: Crysta Aoi (or Aoi Crysta, whatever)
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Element: Water and Wind
Clan/Family: Aoi - Bloodline: Strings of ice spread out from the caster's hand. The target(s) who are touched by these strings soon turn into statues of ice. Powerful, but can be easily dodged if the person is fast enough.
Preferred style: Ninjutsu
Preferred weapons: Serrated Katana, Cobra Whip, Chakram
Appearance: Crysta looks albino first and foremost. She has stark silver-blonde hair, cut short and layered all over with razored and flicked ends. Her bangs have been cut mid-length, creating a strange geometry that draws attention to her blood red eyes. Her complexion is nearly white, implying she has gotten very little sun. She wears formfitting clothing, black and violet in color -- usually a tunic, leather pants, boots, elbow-length gloves, headband, and a violet scarf. She is smaller and more lithe than average.
Personality: A young girl who makes it blatantly obvious that she's not here to socialize or make friends. She's here for to improve herself, pure and simple, and views people as distractions and hinderances towards her goal. As a result of her stubborness and dedication, she has a tendency to comprehend and adapt with startling quickness for someone just reaching puberty. While her outward appearance protrays her as secretive and avoidant, she hides a firecracker temper with a fairly short fuse. She can't tolerate what she perceives as stupidity or submissiveness. She feels strangely at peace when it rains, and it may be the only time when she's remotely nice.

She is commonly referred to as "The Bitch" or "Lady Tiger"... usually the former.

Team 14
Jounin
QUOTE (Rock)
Name: Roku Lyle
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Element: Earth, Wind
Clan/Family: Roku. Bloodline: Stone Body. By focusing their earth based affinity members of the Roku clan are abled to temporarily harden portions of their body, enabling them to withstand attacks.
Prefered style: Taijutsu
Prefered weapons: Three inch metal claws, these claws can e infused with Roku's elemental affinities, hardening them with earth, or lextending their reach and sharpness with wind.
Appearance: Lyle dresses in the garb of a normal Jounin, navy pants and shirt, flak jacket. He did however have the sleeves of his shirt removed so he could move his muscular arms more freely. He wears his forhead protector in its proper place and encourages others to do the same. On his hands he wears black leather gloves with magnetic fastenings for the claws he carries on his equipment belt. He has brown hair and blue eyes, though most people cannot see his eye color due to the sunglasses he wears.
Personality:
Lyle is quiet and anylitical, prefering to allow others to let others think through their problems, though willing to help them stay on the right track. He was a bodygaurd for the current Hokage, though he was asked to train a team as a personal favor toher since currently the Leaf needs more capable ninjas. He considers Michael Mitzu to be a his rival, though neither has formally announced any such thing.

Genin
QUOTE (Soja)
Name: Hakushiro Soja
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Element: Wind and Fire
Clan/Family: Hakushiro. The clan is normally isolationist and nomadic, but exceptions have been made recently and more members of the family are slowly making their way into more populated regions of the country. Members of the Hakushiro are able to throw their voice more readily than other people. Furthermore... Bloodline Limit: Ember Step - Similar to Shadow Stepping, Ember Stepping allows the user to "teleport" from one source of fire to another. With sufficient training, it is possible to Ember Step through an enemy's torch or an arrow on fire.
Prefered style: Taijutsu and Ninjutsu
Prefered weapons: Bo Staff, Naginata, Scorpion Wire, Kris
Appearance: Soja bears many features comparable to the nomads of the far north. He is a youth of medium height and hardy build, covered in tanned skin and topped off with carelessly tossed tangles of very dark brown hair. His eyes are green with yellow flecking that makes them appear amber at a distance, akin to a wolf's. His upper body is very developed and explains his affinity for polearms over more typical gear of the ninja, though he trains with the Kris and Scorpion Wire anyway. His clothing could be said to look more civilized than he, consisting of a black gi and matching trousers. The raiments are frayed at the ends, though, and they don't appear as though they can take much more abuse. His hands are wrapped  in self-styled gloves consisting of strips of treated animal hide, and his feet are protected by tabi reinforced with iron cladding. He dislikes the metal-plated headband common among the Genin, so he doesn't wear it except during instruction or actual combat.
Personality: He doesn't talk much, that's certain. Soja will often answer questions directed at him with either a nod or a shake of the head, believing that anything else is usually unnecessary. A stranger in a strange land, the aura of defensiveness he exudes is off-putting, but he doesn't seem overtly hostile. Soja will avoid other people most of the time and stew in solitude, giving the impression that he dislikes socializing. Soja has no sense of competitiveness and so exhibits little of the fierce drive to impress his instructors as the other students do. He has an enormous sense of pride, however, and Soja will take any failure on his behalf, personal or professional, very harshly. Because of this, he is quick to learn from mistakes and a perfectionist at heart. His pride faults him -- if his ability is insulted in any way, one had better be prepared to defend themselves. Because of his mute tendencies and the resulting scarcity of the knowledge of his name, Soja is normally known as "Kiba" -- meaning "Fang" -- for the jagged scar running down his left arm. He is tragically humorless and does not respond predictably to jokes and sarcasm.

QUOTE (Reaver)
Name: Davii Oto (My first name will be my last here, with a change.)
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Element: Lightning
Clan/Family: No Prefrence?
Prefered style: Genjutsu.
Prefered weapons:Kunai and Shuriken, Bow + Arrow, Shobo. (Link to Shobo)

Appearance:Oto has a medium build, medium skin tone, and medium height. His bown hair overlaps the band he wears on his forehead. His favorite feature are his light green eyes, which he uses to explain what he feels is strong aim. Oto wears a black coat with a white shirt under it and black pants and shoes with a spike in the front to climb trees and such. He also wears a white belt around his waist.

Personality: Oto is patient and intelligent, but when it comes to combat Oto is a fan of quick and merciless strikes. Oto works very hard and likes to be known as the ninja to be counted on in times of trouble and in any tight situation, he holds himself to such high standards that he sometimes has to convince himself that he's done a good job. Oto is fairly outgoing and a pretty helpful guy, he likes a good conversation.
Likes: Rain, Cooking.
Dislikes:Loud Noises, Idiots.

QUOTE (Kaento)
Name: Hyuuga Koharu
Age: 13
Gender: Male.
Element: Wind
Clan/Family: Hyuuga.  Bloodline Limit: Byakugan
Prefered style: Gentle Fist (Taijutsu)
Prefered weapons: None
Appearance:  You can see his clothes from waist up, but from waist down, his green shirt continues for about another inch, and on his legs he wears dark blue, semi-loose shorts, with a hard plastic container in his left bottom pocket (like in cargo shorts) for his kunai and shuriken. On his feet he wears standard dark blue ninja shoe-sandals. Occasionally you'll find him with his gloves off, but only when he's sleeping, when he's showering/bathing(of course) and basically anytime that he's not fighting, he keeps them in his right pocket. Personality: A shy person at heart, he's very intelligent and witty, but not very confident. He tends to say 'Err', 'Um', mutter, and pause during conversations with newly met people or to intimidating people. More submissive than most people, he tends to be shyer around girls, so you could call him a male Hinata if you'd like to classify him that way. However, if it's anything endangering any of his family, friends, or any loved ones, his determination is infinite. He loves manga, ramen, and hanging out with friends. He also tends to become lazy, and sometimes mutter Shikamaru's catchphrase, "How troublesome...". Despite all this though, he grins and smiles alot. More often than not, you'll find him with his hands in his pockets.

Chapter 1

Situated within the great Fire Country was Konoha, the village hidden in the leaves. Despite outward appearances, Konoha was the military epicenter for the entire Fire Country. Being one fo the worlds great Hidden Villages, Konoha was a ninja village. Governed by the Hokage, it was the headquarters for the Fire Country’s shinobi. Shinobi serve as the world’s main military power, and much as the Fire Country helped establish Konoha as one of the great Hidden Villages, Konoha helped to establish the Fire Country as one of the great nations.

One of the most important features of Konoha, as with any hidden village, was it’s ninja academy. Here children enrolled and studied to someday become fully-trained ninja. They began their training young, and were expected to study and train hard. Despite their age, even the young academy students were dangerous fighters.

Inside the academy, Iruka-sensei stood at the front of the senior-most class arranging papers. It was that time of year again - time for graduation from the academy. Assuming the students passed their final test, they would be promoted to Genin, the lowest level of ninja. Iruka sighed. This was the first graduating class sense Naruto and his class graduated. It was hard to believe that had only been a year ago. Iruka gave his papers a final shuffle, before casting his eyes over the class.

A number of the students were chattering with their classmates. Amongst those, several stood out for being unusually loud. A bay name Kai Leon, whose tan skin and dark pants contrasted sharply with his white hair and jacket was making pronounced gestures and those around him seemed to find whatever he was saying amusing. Several tables away, a dark green-clad Strife Linoud was chatting happily with the red-headed Niwa Desu and the green-haired Hyuuga Koharu. In contrast, the severe, pale Aoi Crysta was doing her best to ignore Leon and the monochrome-clad, brown-haired Davii Oto sat quietly studying for the imminent test.

Iruka cleared his through and the noise in the room died down. He had to clear it twice more, though to finally shut up Linoud and Leon. After everyone had quieted down, Iruka picked up his stack of paper and stood in front of his desk. “Alright students,” he began. “Today is your final examination. If you pass, you will become full-fledged ninja of the leaf and receive one of these,” He gestured to the Konoha Forehead Protectors lined up on his desk. This brought a few excited whispers from the class, but Iruka pressed on. “I will call you up here one at a time and you will preform a Transformation Jutsu, making yourself look like me.” He examined his stack of papers. “First up, Kanai Anzen.”

The mauve-haired kunoichi flinched slightly at the use of her proper name - she preferred to go by Ciel. She stood and made her way tot he front of the room, adjusting her open vest. She stood in front of Iruka and waited for him to give her a nod. Once he did, Ciel made a quick Ram hand seal and called out “Henge!” In a puff of smoke erupted, hiding her from view. When it cleared, there stood an exact copy of Iruka.

The teacher nodded. “Very good,” he told her, and with a puff of smoke, she returned to normal. Iruka took one of the headbands off the desk and handed it to her. “You pass. Here is your Leaf Forehead Protector.”

“Thank, you, Iruka-sensei,” Ciel replied happily, as she made her way back to her seat.

Iruka examined his second sheet of paper. “Next up is Kam Yun.” A boy with long, black hair dressed in a traditional blue and gold silk oriental tunic stood and made his way to the front of the class.

* * * * * * *

In another part of the Leaf Village, a group of older shinobi crowded around the Hokage’s desk. Tsunade, the Godaime Hokage, sat at her desk, leaning back in her chair and paying attention with mild interest. On her desk sat a red velvet cushion, upon which rested a crystal ball. The ball displayed an image of Iruka’s classroom as the potential Genin began to preform their final test. Tsunade’s assistant, Shizune, and her apprentice, Sakura, flanked her on either side; the pink-haired Sakura was clutching a stack of folders.

The rest of the room’s occupants all wore Jounin jackets - well, aside from the black canine that flanked one of the Jounin. All the shinobi were gazing into the Hokage’s crystal ball and watching the exam. Their attention was briefly diverted, however, as the door opened and another Jounin entered. The lean, sandy-haired Jounin gave a sheepish smile. “Sorry I’m late,” he apologized.

A taller, bulkier Jounin casually raised an eyebrow over his dark sunglasses, not bothering to uncross his massive, muscular arms. “So you made it after all,” he stated in a monotone voice.

The new arrival smirked at his taller companion. “Oh, you’re here too, Lyle?”

Tsunade cut in, effectively ending the conversation. “I’m glad you made it, Michael. The students have just started their exam.” She motioned towards the crystal ball. Michael nodded, silently taking up position by the desk and watching.

Inside the crystal ball, a green-haired boy with pale, white eyes was making his way to the front of the class. “Is that a Hyuuga?” the Jounin with the dog asked. “He has the eyes, but doesn’t look like one.”

The Hokage nodded. “That’s Hyuuga Koharu. He’s only half Hyuuga, though. Hence his unusual appearance.” The Jounin, Inuzuka Sentenal nodded in understanding.

In the crystal ball, the young Hyuuga had received his forehead protector and made his way back to his seat, when Iruka called up the next student. A dark complected boy in a frayed black gi with hide wrappings made his way up to the front.

“That kid’s not a local, is he?” Lyle, the larger Jounin commented.

“No, he isn’t,” Tsunade replied. “That is Hakushiro Soja. He’s from a nomadic clan. His family migrated to Konoha a while back. They have a high affinity for fire. He’s a vary serious one.”

The Jounin watched continued watching as the rest of the class was called up to take their test. Tsunade made occasional comments about the students, and the Jounin asked occasional questions.

“So, they all passed,” a female Jounin stated as the final student received his forehead protector. A pale-skinned redhead, the Jounin flicked her hair over her shoulder as she asked, “Were they all expected to graduate, Hokage-sama?”

Tsunade nodded. “Yes, Hollie, we figured they would.” She passed a hand over the crystal ball and the image of the classroom faded. “Now that you all have had a brief look at the new Genin, it is time to assign the teams you will each be leading. Sakura.”

Tsunade’s pink-haired assistant stepped forward, handing out folders, each to the Jounin whose name was on the cover. “As they all passed, we don’t have to make any changes to the intended lineup. These folders contain the profiles of the three Genin that are being assigned to each of you, as well as your team’s number. I expect you all to have this information memorized before tomorrow morning, when you meet your team.”

The Jounin began leafing through their folders, inspecting the pictures and profiles of the new graduates. As they examined the information, the Hokage continued, “Naturally, these teams have been arranged through careful examination and evaluation.” At that, both Shizune and Sakura coughed into their hands. The Hokage spared them each a brief glare. “Alright, they were actually decided by getting drunk and throwing kunai at their pictures.”

Several of the Jounin snickered at this. Sakura frowned. She’d never gotten drunk before, but the Hokage had insisted. She’d had the world’s largest hangover the next day, and she was fairly certain that Tsunade has nearly hit her with one of the kunai.

“So, the teams are random?” Michael asked, looking up from his folder.

“Yes,” Tsunade confirmed. “It seems that most any arrangement of these teams will produce balanced and unique combinations, so we decided to leave it up to fate.”

Shizune coughed what sounded like “Fate and sake.” But she just smiled when the Hokage again glared at her.

“Anyways,” Tsunade continued. “You all have your team assignments now. You will meet up with them tomorrow. Dismissed.”

With a final, “Yes Hokage-sama,” the Jounin departed her office.

* * * * * * *

Back in the academy classroom, Iruka had just finished telling the new Genin to be back in the classroom at the normal time tomorrow to receive their team assignments and meet their Jounin instructors. The students cheerfully made their way out of the classroom, all excited about finally being made into real ninja.

“This is gonna be great!” a exuberant Leon exclaimed to the rest of the class. “My team’s gonna be the greatest ever!”

“Don’t count on it,” Crysta muttered under her breath.

Completely ignoring the anti-social girl, Linoud replied to Leon, “Oh yeah? Not unless you’re on my team it won’t be!”

The rugged, dark haired Santi Raphael snorted. “A team with those two on it would be a joke.”

“What was that?!” both of the loud youths cried, glaring at Raphael, who just rolled his eyes.

“I hope I’m not on a team with either of those two,” Oto muttered.

Next to him, Yun smiled, smoothing his silk tunic. “I don’t know . . . at least it would be amusing.”

“Well, we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out,” Hamatatsu Katori said softly, adjusting her ankle-length black hair.

The other Genin murmured their agreement before they all broke away to meet their families, most of which were hanging around the academy, waiting to congratulate the graduates.

My my. This was well-written for a fic that apparently took you only a few days and a sign-up to plan. D:

It's done its job and hooked me in, which is a miracle considering my opinion of Naruto. (It also helped that I knew most of the jargon anyway; adding a glossary for those unfamiliar with it might be a good move). I look forward to more of this.

Florina - October 28, 2006 02:25 AM (GMT)
Yes, very! <3 Keep it up, Jedi!

I just put one in the sign up topic. Good idea.

I will try to get the next chapter once I have my last Genin, we're still short one.

Ippo - October 28, 2006 03:16 AM (GMT)
Good job. You fit in the character pretty well. :sentenal:

I'll keep reading.

Blick Winkel - October 28, 2006 05:25 AM (GMT)
Not a bad start my friend.

Trabant - October 28, 2006 05:57 AM (GMT)
I keep forgetting which character is who alot, but that is my problem, not the Fic's. Me likes.

Linoud - October 28, 2006 06:14 PM (GMT)
:kakashi: It's sexy.

Leon, if we're on the same team we'll own, forget them fools. Our team wouldnt be a joke. :valter:

Awesome. Keep it up. :3

Kaento - October 28, 2006 06:30 PM (GMT)
I like how you only took a few days and already had gotten each character into their personalities so quickly.

Yurius - October 29, 2006 12:45 AM (GMT)
Not bad so far.

...there's a sign-up topic? Must have been when my internet went out for the past couple days (GODDAMN YOU TIME WARNER). You got any spots left?

Linoud - October 29, 2006 12:54 AM (GMT)
Yes, there's one left I believe Andras. :sentenal:

JediSSJ - October 29, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)
Actually, Harem got his profile in. You could sign up to be an enemy ninja (from a different country) or something, and eventually I'll need instructors and entrants for the Chuunin exam. But that's not for a while.

Chapter 2

It was unusually sunny for the morning. Or, at least that is what Mitzu Michael thought as he exited his apartment. Perhaps it was bright out, or perhaps he was just grumpy from being up earlier than he liked. Sure, it wasn’t just because he had to start teaching Genin today - shinobi always had to be up early - but that’s what he felt like blaming it on. Stifling a yawn, he ran a hand through his shaggy, sand colored hair, draping his Jounin vest over his shoulder with his free hand.

Michael gave a couple quick, stretching twists of his shoulders before twirling his vest around and sliding his arms through it. It wasn’t that he particularly disliked the idea of teaching Genin - he could have some real fun with their training - but it meant he wouldn’t likely see a mission more difficult than C-rank for quite a while. He was going to get rusty. Maybe, during his team’s off time, he could convince the Hokage to let him take on a few A or S ranked missions.

Oh well. Michael glanced at the still rising sun. Time to get going.

* * * * * * *

The recently appointed Genin filed into Iruka’s classroom with only a light buzz of chatter. Most of the Genin and their families had celebrated late last night, so the youngsters were a little low on sleep, and so less vocal than usual.

Well, most of them. Linoud and Yun were chattering about who they wanted to be paired with on their team. Leon was hitting on a particularly uninterested Desu - he tended to choose a different girl each day, always with the same result: none.

Iruka ran his eyes over the class, checking to see if everyone was present. He noted that each Genin now wore his or her Leaf Forehead Protector proudly. Concluding that everyone was there, Iruka cleared his throat. “All right, students!” he called out. The class began to quiet and give him their attention, but Iruka chuckled and shook his head. “Ah, I guess I shouldn’t call you that any more. All right Shinobi of the Leaf!” This earned him grins and a few chuckles. “Today you will all be assigned to your three man teams. These teams will be very important to you from here on out. From this day forth, these teams are your family. You will train together and be assigned missions together. You will likely continue to work in these teams even once you are promoted to Chuunin. As such, I expect you all to try and get along with your teammates.” This caused a slight murmur in the class.

Iruka picked a clipboard up off his desk and examined it. “Now everybody listen up,” he said. “These teams are numbered. I will read off the team and the names of those of you assigned to that team. Once I have read off all the teams, I will instruct each team on where to go to meet up with your Jounin instructor, who will be in charge of your team.” The Genin all nodded in understanding, and Iruka went on.

“First off, we have Team 11. The shinobi assigned to this team will be: Kai Leon . . .”
In the crowd Leon pumped his fist in the air. “Ha! I’m first!” The rest of the class rolled their eyes, many crossing their fingers in hopes of not being assigned to Team 11.

“Kanai Anzen.”

Again, it was Leon who made the commotion. “Wahoo! A chick!” Ciel rolled her eyes, partly at Loen and partly at the use of her real name. Fortunately, she was one of the ones who didn’t particularly dislike the loudmouth. But if he tried to kiss her again he would regret it.

“And Santi Raphael.”

“Arg!” said ninja groaned. “Why me? Why the jackass?”

“Hey!” Leon cried out, standing up and pointing a finger at Raphael. “You wanna say something to my face?!”

Raphael narrowed his eyes and smirked. “Yes. You’re an idiot.”

Before Leon could retort, Iruka cut him off. “Alright, that’s enough.” Leon sat down, scowling, while Raphael crossed his arms.

Iruka rolled his eyes before continuing. “Next is Team 12. For this team we have: Aburame Anji . . .” Anji just nodded, though a few of the girls in the class sighed, hoping to get put on his team. He was oddly popular with the female population. Last count, he had seven girlfriends, though they were all civilians.

“Niwa Desu.” She also simply nodded.

“And Strife Linoud.”

“Boo-yah!” Linoud cried, making a V sign with his fingers. “We’re gonna own!” Strangely, Desu blushed slightly. Anji grinned. This was going to be fun.

“And now Team 13,” Iruka continued. “Here we have: Aio Crysta . . .”

The pale girl nodded slightly, frowning as normal. Linoud leaned over to Soja and whispered, “Gee. Glad I’m not on her team.” Soja simply nodded.

“Hamatatsu Katori.”

The long-haired girl nodded politely and smiled pleasantly at her teammate. Crysta only returned a glare, which had Katori frowning slightly.

“And Kam Yun.”

Yun grinned broadly at his teammates. Katori returned the smile, while Crysta again scowled. She folded her arms. “I’m on a team of morons,” she muttered.

“Next we have Team 14. On this team: Davii Oto . . .” Oto only nodded.

“Hakushiro Soja.” Soja also nodded.

“And Hyuuga Koharu.” The green-haired Hyuuga bit his lip nervously, glancing at Oto and Soja before nodding. He seemed to have fairly skilled teammates. He hoped he wouldn’t drag them down.

Iruka went on, naming teams for the rest of the members of the class. After assigning the last members to Team 20, Iruka flipped the sheet of paper on his clipboard. “Okay, people. Listen up and I will tell you where to meet your Jounin leaders. First off, Team 11 head to classroom 109. Team 12 you’ll be in room 115. Team 13, your meeting out by the swing out front. Team 14, meet on balcony B. Team 15 . . .” The Genin began tuning Iruka out once he listed their Team’s meeting spot. “Alright people, head out your meeting spots.”

The Genin began to file out of the room talking excitedly. Outside they split off into their various teams and headed towards their meeting spots.

* * * * * * *

Ciel walked down the hall with Leon and Raphael on either side of her. The two boys occasionally glared at each other over her head when they thought the other wasn’t looking. Ciel was starting to get a bit annoyed. This was going to be difficult if her teammates couldn’t get along.

After several long, tense moments of walking, the three of them arrived at room 109. Sighing, Ciel slid the door open.

Woof!

Ciel ‘Eep-ed’ and jumped back in surprise. Both Leon and Raphael’s heads snapped towards the door, where a large black wolf-like dog was blocking the way.

Woof!

This time the dog leapt up and pounced on Ciel, who again cried out as she was knocked to the ground. She was reaching for a kunai before she realized that the dog was licking her face, rather than attacking.

“That’s enough, Marty. Get off her.” With a whine, the dog complied, trotting back into the classroom to stand next to a man in a gray coat, with a Jounin vest over it. He had a Leaf Forehead Protector around his neck. He turned to the three Genin. “Come on in. Grab a seat.”

Leon and Raphael each offered Ciel a hand, then glared at each other for doing so. Ciel took both hands and they pulled her up to her feet, and then entered the classroom. They took seat in the front row of desks, while the Jounin leaned against the empty teacher’s desk, folding his arms. The black dog sat down on the floor at his feet.

“Alright, kiddies,” the Jounin began. “I’m Inuzuka Sentenal. Call me whatever. You three are Leon, Anzen, and Raphael, right?”

“Yes, Sentenal-sensei,” Ciel replied for the three of them.

“Alright then,” the Jounin nodded. “As I’m sure you guessed, I’m your Jounin instructor. This is my partner, Marty.” The black dog raised it’s head and barked. “From now on, the five of us are going to be working together a lot. Let’s start by getting acquainted. Tell me a bit about yourselves.”

Leon took the initiative to begin. “I’m Kai Leon!” He stated proudly. “I’m going to be the strongest ninja ever!”

“Oh?” Sentenal raised an eyebrow. “Loud and cocky. Interesting.

“I’m also going to be the sexiest ninja! All the women will worship me.”

Sentenal raised his other eyebrow. “Okay . . .”

Ciel rolled her eyes. “Fat chance . . .” Fortunately, Leon didn’t notice.

“How about you? Anzen, correct?” Sentenal asked.

“Actually, I prefer Ciel,” she informed him.

“Noted.”

“Well, I’ve been training sense I was very young. My family specializes in medical jutsu. I intend to become a Medi-nin.”

Sentenal nodded. “So we already have a medic. How about you?”

Raphael nodded. “I am Santi Raphael. I’m a Taijutsu specialist. I can’t use chakra at all, but I am skilled in many forms of hand-to-hand combat. Also, I hate idiots.” The last part was said glancing at Leon, who grinned and stuck out his tongue.

“No chakra, eh? Maito Gai has a Genin like that. I may see if I can arrange for us to train with them a few times. That is, once you guys have gained some skill and won’t simply be a burden on his team.”

Leon frowned. “Hey, we have skill! We are real ninja now.” Strangely, Raphael actually nodded in agreement.

“Oh?” Sentenal asked, grinning. “We’ll see what you think after our first training session tomorrow. I want you three to be at Field 11 by sunrise. We’ll find out if you’re fit to be ninja.”

“What do you mean by that?” Raphael asked, folding his arms. “We are ninja now. We graduated the academy.”

“Heh. That means squat, kid,” Sentenal replied. “You see, even if you graduate, I can fail you and send you back. Tomorrow I’m going to test you and see if I think you’re worthy to be shinobi. If you fail, it’s back to the academy.”

“Y-you can’t do that!” Leon cried.

“Yes, I can, kid. Remember; Field 11. Sunrise. Don’t be late.”

“Uh, Sentenal-sensei?” Ciel piped up.

“What?”

“Um, what kind of test are you giving us, exactly?” she asked.

“You’ll just have to wait and see,” he replied, grinning. “Be ready for anything.” With that, he stood up and headed for the door, Marty following him. “You three have the rest of the day off. Don’t be late tomorrow.”

* * * * * * *

Linoud, Desu, and Anji had arrived at Room 115 to find it empty. They each took a seat in the front row. Linoud and Anji both grinned mischievously and conversed in hushed tones. Desu sat quietly and waited.

After several minutes, the door to the classroom slid open and a woman walked in. Much like Desu, the woman had fairly long red hair, though Desu’s was darker. The woman has pale skin and wore a black shirt and jeans, with a Jounin vest on top.

“Hello, everyone,” the woman said, closing the door and heading for the front of the room. “I am Gue Hollie, and from now on, I’m your Jounin instructor.” All three students smiled at their instructor, though for different reasons. Linoud and Anji felt that they’d hit the jackpot. Their Jounin was a babe. Desu grinned because she had an instant liking for her fellow female.

Hollie sat down on the teachers desk, facing the Genin. “I already have your profiles, but why don’t you three tell me something about yourselves?”

Desu’s hand went in the air and Hollie nodded at her. “I’m Niwa Desu,” she stated. “I’m the first shinobi in my family in five generations, and I want to make a name for myself.”

Hollie nodded. “Very good. Next?”

Linoud stood up. “I’m Strife Linoud. My family uses time-altering Ninjutsu, and I like sword fighting. I don’t use Genjutsu.”

“Interesting,” the Jounin replied. “And you?”

“Aburame Anji,” he stated. “My family specializes in working with insects. I have a summoning contract with dragonflies, but I can only summon tiny ones as of yet.”

“Well, that’s interesting,” Hollie replied. “I have a summoning contract with Whippoorwills myself. Once we’ve improved you chakra control, we can work on your summoning.”

Hollie stood up and paced the front of the room. “Our first official session is tomorrow. I want all of you to be at Training Field 12 by sunup. I’m going to see just how good you three are, and see what I have to work with here. You are all dismissed for the rest of the day.”

* * * * * * *

Yun, Katori, and Crysta all exited the academy building and headed for the lone tree out front with a swing hanging from it. Seeing noone else around, the three made themselves comfortable. Crysta leaned up against the tree, folding her arms and closing her eyes. Yun sat down on the ground, and Katori sat on the swing.

They waited in silence for several minutes. And then for several more. Finally, Yun piped up. “So . . . where’s our teacher?” Katorie shrugged, not knowing any more than he did.

Crysta grunted. “He could at least be on time.”

“Actually, I was here before you three.” All three Genin’s head’s whipped up to find a man laying on a branch of the tree the swing hung from.

“What the-?” Yun muttered.

Crysta narrowed her eyes. “If you were here, why didn’t you say something?”

The man raised an eyebrow. “If I was here, why didn’t you sense me before I spoke up?” Crysta blinked, flustered. Twisting around, the man jumped out of the tree. Now that he stood on the ground, the Genin could get a good look at him. He wore pretty standard Jounin attire, other than his metal-backed, fingerless gloves. “I’m Mitzu Michael,” he stated. “I’ll be the leader of Team 13.”

The three Genin examined their Jounin for a moment, while he did the same to then. Finally, Michael spoke up. “Alright. First off, why don’t you each tell me a bit about yourself. Your profiles only included physical data. I want to know a bit about the people I’m going to be working with. For the sake of fairness, I’ll go first. I’ve been a Jounin for nine years, and I’ve spent most of it as ANBU. Now you.” He pointed to Yun. “Your family is not originally from the Fire Country, correct?”

Yun noded. “Yes. I am Kam Yun. My family originally hailed from the Vegetable Country. We had no Hidden Village, but I always dreamed of becoming a ninja. I was very excited when we moved to Konoha.”

Michael nodded. “Alright. You next,” he said pointing to Crysta.

“Aoi Crysta,” she stated curtly. “I am a weapons expert.”

Michael raised an eyebrow at this. “Oh? So you’re an expert, are you?”

“I am.”

The Jounin grinned. “Well, we’ll find out tomorrow.” Crysta scowled at that. “And you?” Michael asked Katori.

“I’m Hamatatsu Katori,” she replied. “My family have been shinobi for generations. I like daggers.”

Michael nodded. “Okay. As a word of advice, you might want to think about cutting that hair. At that length it will only get in th-“

NO!!” Katori shouted, eyes blazing.

Michael blinked and took a step back. “Uh . . . okay . . . err, forget I said anything.” Katori seemed to settle back down.

“Anyways, tomorrow we’re going to decide if you three have what it takes to be Shinobi of the Leaf,” the Jounin informed them.

“Uh, what do you mean, Michael-sensei?” Yun asked. “Aren’t we already Shinobi of the Leaf?”

“Yes, but, if I decide you aren’t ready, I can send you back to the academy. If you fail my test tomorrow, then that’s what I’ll do.”

“Are you serious?!” Katori exclaimed, jumping to her feet.

“Completely,” Michael replied. “Be at Training Field 13 tomorrow at dawn. Bring anything you think you might need . . . my tests aren’t easy. We’ll find out just what you three are capable of.”

* * * * * * *

When Soja, Oto, and Koharu arrived at the balcony, a large, burly man in a Jounin uniform and sunglasses was waiting for them.

“Hello, I am Roku Lyle,” he greeted them. “I am your Jounin instructor. Pleased to meet you. Take a seat.” The three Genin all sat down on one of the benches on the balcony. “Today we’re just having a brief meeting,” Lyle informed them. “Our first training session is tomorrow morning. You all need to be at Training Field 14 by sunrise.” The three Genin nodded in understanding.

The Jounin nodded. “Good. Now, everyone to tell a little about yourselves.”

Oto stood first. “My name is Davii Oto. I like archery.” Lyle nodded.

Soja didn’t stand he merely stated, “Hakushiro Soja. I come from a nomadic clan. We have a high affinity for fire.”

“You have a bloodline limit correct?” Lyle asked. “Ember Stepping?” Soja simply nodded and Lyle turned to the final Genin.

“Uh, I’m Hyuuga Koharu. I, um, have the Byakugan . . . but it’s, ah, kind of weak.”

Lyle nodded. “We’ll work on it,” he said. “Now, that’s it for today. Be at the training field on time.”

Long one, eh? The teams were asigned randomly, so don't gripe. Hopefully, it will be easier to learn the characters now that they are grouped into teams. I'm going to edit the character profiles into the first post.

Because neither China nor Japan exist in the Naruto world. I wanted a country that didn't have a Hidden Village. I didn't make that one up. It was that or the Tea Country.

So far so good. I just suggest you not try and bite off more than you can chew. You could potientally have 4 different stories going on at once till later in the chuunin exams. You should try and just focus on one team at a time.

And I get Leon, Pendant, and Santi, eh? This should be fun :)
